Despite the use of modern visualisation systems, with many machines and systems there remains the need for operation using keys and selector switches. Whether for quick access to functions, maintaining an overview of complex systems or for setup mode in the case of on-site control stations.

The unique structure of this KEYPAD variant allows integration into a standard - “80x80 mm” – aluminium profile and thus requires no additional space in the switch cabinet or in an operator station. The new KEYPAD simplifies the setup of control stations significantly thanks to an integrated fieldbus connection and on-board DI/DOs. 9 short-stroke keys are made available via the fieldbus as an input bitfield. In the contrary direction, each key can be lit up in the colours green, red and orange or with a flash rate by means of a 2-bit combination.
